Team Hendershot wins the legendary Ironman GNCC Pro UTV Race!
PRESS RELEASE. November 6, 2011, Marietta, Ohio.
When the green flag dropped at the Ironman GNCC Pro UTV race, Hendershot Racing and Coastal/National Guard Polaris roared into the first turn--one and two. Hendershot Racing held the inside position drag racing their Hendershot Performance racing engine to the second turn gaining the early lead.
As the hour long race approached the midway point, Team Hendershot had a 30 second lead over second place National Guard/Polaris William Yokley. Team Hendershot was able to maintain their lead by putting in the fastest lap times and taking the checkered flag winning the 2011 GNCC Ironman.
The following quotes were taken from the GNCC Website:
Pre-race: “In the UTV Championship it looks like this one will go down to the wire. The father/son duo of Larry D. and Larry M. Hendershot currently lead William Yokley from Team National Guard/Polaris by only 9 points and the final round of this championship is going to be huge. A few points back in the third position is the Coastal/National Guard machine driven by Scott Kiger. I know all three teams are having a great championship run this season and the Ironman will be where the score gets settled.”
Post-race: “The UTV divisions wrapped up their season at the Ironman, with a competitive seven-lap race. Team Hendershot (POL) claimed the overall win and first in the Open Modified division.”
